Famille de Fabre Chateau de Luc Blanc 2018
Varietal: Roussanne, Marsanne, Grenache Blanc
Alcohol: 14.0%
Region: Corbières, France
Appreciated by most South of France Organic Wine drinkers.
Pale gold colour with notes of honeysuckle, cedar, lemon zest, and grilled almonds. Complex and structured palate with minerality and a hint of white flowers. Lingering finish that is full and fresh.
The vineyards of Chateau de Luc have a rich diversity of soils: recent alluvial soil, rolled pebble soil, and deep plots of limestone that dates back to the Miocene. They offer little fertility and high minerality. The strong Cers (North-west wind) blows down from the garrigue and infuses the wines with aromas of juniper and rosemary.
The grapes are hand harvest at night to preserve aromatic potencial. Roussanne and Marsanne are vinified together and then blended to the Grenache Blanc. Aged in fine lees for a few weeks and a portion in oak.
This wine is served at 8-12 degrees and is well enjoyed with lasagne or baked goats cheese with honey and almonds.
