Deep red with purple tinges. Plum, pomegranate and mulberry notes. Fruit intensity and beautifully balanced. Soft fine grained tannins with Malbec plushness and Petit Verdot’s drive and mineralogy. Cellar with confidence for at least 10 years.
This fulfils the philosophies of quality, integrity and sustainability by having single vineyard sites grown using biodynamic techniques.
The soils at Cullen are old, granite and gravely sandy loam, overlaying lateritic subsoils. The vines are dry farmed, helping to ensure maximum fruit quality, and are both pruned and harvested by hand. Low yields enable the flavours of the grapes to develop fully.

Low Sulphites
Low sulphite practices are when winemakers either use no added sulphites or very minimal quantities during viticulture, winemaking and bottling. This means the wine you drink tastes roughly the same as the day it got bottled. This is great for people with sensitivities to sulphites.

Vegan
Vegan wines are the absence of animal derived ingredients. Common non-vegan ingredients used in some winemaking are blood and bone marrow, chitin (fibers from crustacean shells), fish oil, isinglass - made from dried fish bladders, gelatine, casein (a protein derived from cow’s milk) and albumin from egg whites. These are mostly used for the filtration process. It can be difficult to spot a vegan drink by the label as producers are under no obligation to list animal products used in the production process.

Biodynamic
Biodynamic wine uses all the practices of organic viticulture and adds onto this, more complex farming practices that utilise the astrological calendar and elemental forces. Each biodynamic calendar day coincides with one of the four classical elements of Earth, Fire, Air and Water that have been used since before Plato’s era: Fruit Days: Best days for harvesting grapes, Root Days: Ideal days for pruning, Flower Days: Leave the vineyard alone on these days, Leaf Days: Ideal days for watering plants. It's believed that Biodynamic wine tends to have notably exceptional flavours, appearance and overall quality.

Sustainable
The aim of sustainable wines is for the viticulture and winemaking process to be environmentally conscious and socially responsible - whilst maintaining economic feasibility and high quality wines. This includes building and maintaining healthy soil, managing water wisely, minimising air, water and climate pollution and promoting biodiversity by keeping wild ecosystems intact instead of clearing land etc. When grapes are grown, harvested and made into wine these environmental factors are prioritised to avoid damaging impacts - without sacrificing productivity or profitability.

Natural
Natural wine is an approach that doesn’t sit in a well-defined category but more of a set of agreed-upon characteristics. In its simplest form, natural wine is made from fermented grape juice, where the grapes are hand-picked without being sprayed with pesticides and herbicides. The wines are made with native yeast and minimal intervention in the vineyards and in the cellar. They use no or low amounts of sulphites.

Gluten Free
Gluten Free is the absence of the seed storage protein (gluten) found in certain cereal grains. Wine is naturally gluten-free, however some practices include using gluten during the filtration process or aging it in oak barrels sealed with wheat paste, which could add tiny amounts of gluten to wine. Gluten free wines are best suited for drinkers who are highly allergic to gluten.
