Chateau du Seuil Graves 2017
Varietal: 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc
Alcohol: 13%
Region: Graves, Bordeaux, France
Appreciated by most Bordeaux Organic Wines.
This Graves red wine shows a lean cherry and blackberry nose, with an attractive herbaceous tone and a tobacco note typical of Graves reds. This Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blend has a medium-bodied with fine tannins. A slight earthiness on the finish.
Chateau du Seuil, located 35km south east of Bordeaux, is one of the most elegant country houses on the left bank of the Garonne river. This 19th century estate overlooks the river and is in the heart of the Graves vineyards.
Chateau du Seuil was acquired by an entrepreneurial Welsh couple, Bob and Sue Watts in 1988. After some renovations doth in the cellar and the vineyards, the wines became known for their very high quality. Today, Sean and Nicola Allison run the domaine, following the traditions set by Nicola's parents. They are involved in every aspect of making their wines from the vineyards through to the final bottle. The excellent quality is proof of their determination, as they are personally in charge of all aspects of the winemaking process.

The wine has developed the peppery characteristics of a classic Graves red. The finished wine is aged in oak for up to 18 month prior to bottling."
We love having this wine pairing a beautifully medium rare cooked scotch fillet with some roasted baby potatoes and a fennel, almond, figs and kale salad. You could also enjoy with some roast lamb or even with meatballs on tomato sauce.
